Interior Biome is a soundscape composed with Nuno Lobo and arthropods found around the home. What sounds can
you hear in silence?
I developed incredibly sensitive contact microphones and placed them throughout my house, where they remained operational. You can additionally hear my footsteps as a deep bass rumble as I go about my day in other rooms transporting you to the perspective of a micro entity who coexists with humanity.
The urban+nature sonic pavilion was an auditory exhibition at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago that explores how the sounds of nature are hidden and embedded in the soundtrack of the city. Bringing together 10 multichannel compositions from an international roster of sound artists, the program invited visitors to actively listen to the nature rooted in the urban, and to reconsider the obsolete notion that the human and more-than-human cannot be beautifully reciprocal and entwined.
